An Annie Dillard quote about the porpherin rings in chlorophyll and hemoglobin inspired this watercolor. The central porpherin rings are the  same except that chlorophyll's central element is magnesium and hemoglobin's in iron. A picture of the Sudanese refugees on this huge tree suggested to me how closely we are all connected.  This is the last piece in a Visual Conversation™ with Susan Pomeroy who died in April of 2005...
